Samantha
Home Manager

Karis
Deputy Manager
Karis joined Cedarwood House as a Healthcare Assistant in July 2022. Demonstrating exceptional dedication and skill, she quickly advanced to Senior Healthcare Assistant the following year and was promoted to Deputy Manager in early 2024.
Karis is known for her compassionate, resident-centered approach, earning the appreciation of both residents’ families and her colleagues. She builds strong relationships within the team, handling any challenges with professionalism and empathy.
Her commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents is evident in her proactive embrace of new technologies and practices that keep the home at the forefront of excellent care. Karis is also excited to begin her Level 4 NVQ in Lead Practitioner in Adult Care, furthering her expertise and leadership in the field.

Carrie
Home Administrator
Carrie joined Cedarwood House in early 2023, bringing with her a diverse background in bookkeeping across various industries.
Though new to the care home environment, Carrie adapted seamlessly and quickly made the role her own. Her dedication and versatility make her an invaluable team member who’s always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. With the residents' wellbeing at the heart of everything she does, Carrie is committed to the home’s success and goes above and beyond to support both her colleagues and the community.
Samantha started working as a night carer at our sister home, Derwent Care Home, in 2020. An opportunity for a deputy manager position became available at Cedarwood House in 2022; having worked within the care profession for over seven years, Samantha decided to apply with the support of her then-manager. She was successful; she transferred to Cedarwood in April 2022, continuing to push herself and progress her career.
While working at Cedarwood, an opportunity entirely out of her comfort zone became available, and she took the plunge and applied for the Home Manager position in February 2023; having proved herself in her role as deputy manager, the opportunity to progress her career further was given to her.
Since then, Samantha has shown great dedication to the home, the residents and her team and has proven to be a fantastic manager. When asked what she loves about her work, Samantha said
"Every day, I come to work with a huge passion for caring and ensuring all our residents are looked after with the utmost respect; each day, I strive to ensure our dedicated care team delivers person-centred care to all living at Cedarwood. Every day, a difference is made by our unique, dedicated care team and our wonderful residents."
